1 AN ACT concerning the regulation of professions.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Board and Care Home Registration Act is
5 amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 7/3)
7 Sec. 3. Registration.
8 (a) Every board and care home located in this State is
9 encouraged to shall register with the Department. The
10 voluntary registration shall be in the form prescribed by the
11 Department and shall include the following:
12 (1) The name, address, and telephone number of the
13 facility.
14 (2) The name, address, and telephone number of the
15 owner of the facility.
16 (3) The number of residents of the facility.
17 (4) A registration fee, as determined, by the
18 Department.
19 (b) Every registration issued under this Act shall be
20 valid for 2 years. Upon renewal, the facility must re-apply
21 and meet the registration requirements under this Section.
22 (c) The Department shall promulgate rules to protect the
23 rights and safety of the residents.

25 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
26 becoming law.
