1 AN ACT concerning municipalities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5 adding Section 3.1-55-25 as follows:
6 (65 ILCS 5/3.1-55-25 new)
7 Sec. 3.1-55-25. Automatic abandonment of a form of
8 municipal government. Notwithstanding the provisions of
9 Sections 4-10-1, 5-5-1, 5-5-1.1, 5-5-2, 5-5-3, 5-5-4, 5-5-5,
10 5-5-6 or any other provisions of this Act, if a municipality
11 adopts a different form of municipal government under Article
12 4, 5, or 6, then its current form of municipal government is
13 automatically abandoned when the new form of municipal
14 government takes effect.
