1 AN ACT concerning the regulation of professions.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Interior Design Profession Title Act is
5 amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 310/2) (from Ch. 111, par. 8202)
7 Sec. 2. Public policy. Interior design in this the
8 State of Illinois is hereby declared to affect the public
9 health, safety, and welfare and to be subject to regulation
10 and control in the public interest. It is further declared to
11 be of public interest to recognize and define the separate
12 discipline of residential interior design. It is further
13 declared to be a matter of public interest and concern that
14 the interior design and residential interior design
15 professions merit and receive the confidence of the public
16 and that only qualified persons be permitted to use the title
17 of interior designer or residential interior designer in the
18 State of Illinois. This Act shall be liberally construed to
19 carry out these objectives and purposes.
