1 AN ACT in relation to public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5 adding Section 4-20 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/4-20 new)
7 Sec. 4-20. TANF rules; posting. The Illinois Department
8 shall prepare and publish a summary of the rules governing
9 eligibility for and amounts of assistance under this Article,
10 the availability of assistance under other Articles of this
11 Code for recipients of assistance under this Article, and the
12 rights and responsibilities of recipients of assistance under
13 this Article. The summary must include a statement that the
14 full text of the rules is available for inspection upon
15 request. The summary must also include a statement that an
16 explanation of the rules will be provided upon request. The
17 Illinois Department must post a copy of the summary in each
18 of its offices that serves recipients of assistance under
19 this Article. The summary must be posted in a conspicuous
20 place that is accessible to recipients of assistance under
21 this Article.
22 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
23 becoming law.
