1 AN ACT in relation to highways.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by
5 adding Section 4-411 as follows:
6 (605 ILCS 5/4-411 new)
7 Sec. 4-411. Study of the feasibility of using asphalt
8 rubber in road construction. The Department shall study the
9 feasibility of using asphalt rubber in road construction
10 projects undertaken by the Department. In conducting the
11 study, the Department shall (i) consider development of bid
12 specifications to promote the use of asphalt rubber and (ii)
13 analyze the costs and availability of asphalt rubber. On or
14 before January 1, 2004, the Department shall submit a report
15 of its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the
16 General Assembly.
