1 AN ACT regarding education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5 2-3.64b as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/2-3.64b new)
7 Sec. 2-3.64b. ACT Assessment required. Every public
8 school student in 11th grade must take the ACT Assessment
9 before May 1. The State Board of Education must offer the
10 ACT Assessment on at least one Saturday before May 1. For
11 those students unable to take the ACT Assessment on any of
12 the Saturdays before May 1 in which the ACT Assessment is
13 offered, a school district must set aside a school day before
14 May 1, as chosen by the school district, on which the ACT
15 Assessment must be administered to those students.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
17 July 1, 2001.
