1 AN ACT in relation to vehicles.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
5 adding Section 11-1408.1 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/11-1408.1 new)
7 Sec. 11-1408.1. No minors riding in open truck beds. No
8 person may operate a second division vehicle on a public
9 highway while the open bed of that vehicle is occupied by a
10 person younger than 18 years of age. A person who operates a
11 vehicle or causes a vehicle to be operated in violation of
12 this Section is guilty of a petty offense punishable by a $25
13 fine.
