1 AN ACT concerning guide dogs.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Guide Dog Access Act is amended by
5 changing Section 1 as follows:
6 (720 ILCS 630/1) (from Ch. 38, par. 65-1)
7 Sec. 1. When a blind, hearing impaired or physically
8 handicapped person is accompanied by a dog that which serves
9 as a guide or leader for such person, neither the blind,
10 hearing impaired or physically handicapped person nor the dog
11 shall be denied the right of entry and use of facilities of
12 any public place of accommodation as defined in Section 5-101
13 of the "Illinois Human Rights Act", if such dog is wearing a
14 harness and such person presents credentials for inspection
15 issued by a school for training guide dogs.
16 Any violation of this Act is a Class C misdemeanor.
