1 AN ACT concerning pharmacies.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Pharmacy Practice Act of 1987 is amended
5 by adding Section 19.5 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 85/19.5 new)
7 Sec. 19.5. Prescription change. Prior to dispensing
8 prescriptions, the dispensing pharmacist shall advise the
9 patient of any changes in the quantity of the prescription
10 and shall inform the patient of the effect that any such
11 change has on the per unit price of the prescription.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13 becoming law.
