1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1671
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1671 as follows:
3 by replacing the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT concerning criminal offenses."; and
5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
6 following:
7 "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
8 Limitation on Distributing Tobacco Products Act.
9 Section 5. Sales of cigarettes in a pack of less than 20
10 prohibited. No person shall sell cigarettes in a pack of
11 less than 20 cigarettes to any other person.
12 Section 10. Distribution of free tobacco samples
13 prohibited. No person shall distribute or cause to be
14 distributed without charge samples of tobacco in any of its
15 forms to any other person.
16 Section 15. Penalties.
17 (a) A person who violates Section 5 of this Act is
18 guilty of a petty offense with a fine not to exceed $50 for a

1 first offense and a fine not to exceed $250 for a second or
2 subsequent offense.
3 (b) A person who violates Section 10 of this Act is
4 guilty of a petty offense.
5 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6 becoming law.".
