1 AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Dental Practice Act is amended
5 by changing Section 5 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 20/5) (from Ch. 111, par. 6355)
7 Sec. 5. Powers and duties of the Department.
8 1. The Department must shall exercise the powers and
9 duties as set forth in this Act.
10 2. The Director must shall promulgate rules consistent
11 with the provisions of this Act for the administration and
12 enforcement thereof, and shall prescribe forms which must
13 shall be issued in connection therewith.
14 3. In addition, the Department must shall:
15 (a) Establish rules for determining approved
16 undergraduate and graduate social work degree programs and
17 prepare and maintain a list of colleges and universities
18 offering such approved programs whose graduates, if they
19 otherwise meet the requirements of this Act, are eligible to
20 apply for a license.
21 (b) Promulgate rules, as may be necessary, for the
22 administration of this Act and to carry out the purposes
23 thereof and to adopt the methods of examination of candidates
24 and to provide for the issuance of licenses authorizing the
25 independent practice of clinical social work or the practice
26 of social work.
27 (c) Authorize examinations to ascertain the
28 qualifications and fitness of candidates for a license to
29 engage in the independent practice of clinical social work
30 and in the practice of social work, and to determine the
31 qualifications of applicants from other jurisdictions to

1 practice in Illinois.
2 (d) Maintain rosters of the names and addresses of all
3 licensees, and all persons whose licenses have been
4 suspended, revoked or denied renewal for cause within the
5 previous calendar year. These rosters shall be available
6 upon written request and payment of the required fee.
