1 AN ACT respecting higher education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The University of Illinois at Chicago Act is
5 amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 320/1) (from Ch. 144, par. 40a)
7 Sec. 1. The trustees of the University of Illinois are
8 directed to give consideration to the question of the need of
9 the constantly increasing population of the Chicago
10 metropolitan area for additional local facilities for full
11 undergraduate education; and, whenever in their judgment it
12 is both desirable and feasible to do so, the trustees they
13 are authorized to establish and operate a branch of the
14 University in the City of Chicago, which shall provide for
15 undergraduate curricula and award appropriate degrees.
