1 AN ACT concerning higher education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The University of Illinois at Chicago Act is
5 amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 320/1) (from Ch. 144, par. 40a)
7 Sec. 1. Chicago branch. The trustees of the University
8 of Illinois are directed to give consideration to the
9 question of the need of the constantly increasing population
10 of the Chicago metropolitan area for additional local
11 facilities for full undergraduate education; and, whenever in
12 their judgment it is both desirable and feasible to do so,
13 they are authorized to establish and operate a branch of the
14 University in the City of Chicago, which shall provide for
15 undergraduate curricula and award appropriate degrees.
