1 AN ACT concerning the Great Lakes Naval Station.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Great Lakes Naval Station Tax Exemption
5 Act is amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
6 (35 ILCS 810/1) (from Ch. 1, par. 3451)
7 Sec. 1. State tax exemption for lands used by the U.S.
8 Navy. On any of the following described property, or any
9 facility located, operated or used on such property, for so
10 long as it is used by the Department of the Navy, United
11 States of America, as the United States Naval Training
12 Station and Downey Hospital at Great Lakes, Lake County,
13 Illinois there shall not be imposed upon the Department of
14 the Navy of the United States or any agency or
15 instrumentality thereof, any tax of any type including but
16 not limited to, real and personal property, or the following
17 revenue taxes imposed under Sections 8-11-1 through 8-11-5 of
18 the Illinois Municipal Code, municipal retailers' occupation
19 tax, tax on occupations or privileges, cigarette tax, motor
20 vehicle tax, municipal service occupation tax, or any similar
21 type tax hereafter authorized by the General Assembly:

23 Parcel #1
24 That part of Sections 4 and 9 in Township 44 North, Range
25 12, East of the Third Principal Meridian bounded by the
26 following described line; Commencing at the point of
27 intersection of the East right of way line of the Chicago and
28 Northwestern Railway with the North line of the South half of
29 said Section 4, thence East along the North line of the South
30 1/2 of said Section 4 to the shoreline of Lake Michigan,
31 thence Southerly along the shore line of Lake Michigan to the

1 point of intersection with the South line of the North half
2 of said Section 9; thence West along the south line of the
3 North 1/2 of said Section 9 to the point of intersection with
4 the West right of way line of Sheridan Road, State Route 42,
5 thence Northerly along the West right of way line of Sheridan
6 Road State Route 42 to the place of beginning of this
7 description.

9 That part of Sections 5, 8 and 17, in Township 44 North,
10 Range 12 East of the 3rd Principal Meridian bounded by the
11 following described line; Commencing at the point of
12 intersection of the Easterly right of way line of the Elgin,
13 Joliet and Eastern Railway with the North line of the South
14 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 5, thence East along
15 the North line of the South 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4, to a
16 point which is 696.90 feet West of the East line of said
17 Section 5, thence South a distance of 100.18 feet, thence
18 East 236.40 feet, thence South 1056.42 feet, thence East to
19 the Westerly right of way line of the abandoned Chicago,
20 North Shore and Milwaukee Railway; thence South along the
21 Westerly right of way line of the Chicago, North Shore and
22 Milwaukee right of way line to the South line of the
23 Northeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of said Section 17, thence
24 West along the South line of the NE 1/4, NE 1/4 of said
25 Section 17 to the West line of said 1/4 1/4 Section thence
26 North along the West line of the said 1/4 1/4 Section to the
27 North line of said Section 17, thence West along the North
28 line of said Section 17 to the point of intersection of the
29 said North line with the Easterly right of way line of the
30 Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway; thence Northerly along the
31 Easterly right of way line of said railway to the place of
32 beginning.

34 That part of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 17 and 18 in Township

1 44 North, Range 12 East of the 3rd Principal Meridian bounded
2 by the following described line; Commencing at the point of
3 intersection of the Westerly right of way line of the Elgin,
4 Joliet and Eastern Railway with the North line of the South
5 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 5, thence South
6 along the said Westerly right of way line of the Elgin,
7 Joliet and Eastern Railway to the centerline of Buckley Road
8 (State Route 137) thence Westerly along the centerline of
9 said Buckley Road to the centerline intersection with
10 Greenbay Road (State Route 131) thence Southerly along the
11 centerline of said Greenbay Road to the point of intersection
12 with the Northerly right of way line of the Elgin, Joliet and
13 Eastern Railway; thence Westerly along the Northerly right of
14 way line of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway to the
15 point of intersection with the Easterly right of way line of
16 the Public Service Company right of way; thence Northerly
17 along the Easterly right of way line of the Public Service
18 Co. right of way to the point of intersection with the North
19 line of the South half of the South East 1/4 of said Section
20 6; thence East along the North line of the South 1/2 of the
21 Southeast 1/4 of said Section 6 and the North line of the
22 South 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of said Section 5 to the
23 centerline of Greenbay Road (State Route 131) thence
24 Southerly along the centerline of said Greenbay Road to the
25 South line of said Section 5, thence East along the South
26 line of said Section 5 to the East line of the SW 1/4 of the
27 SW 1/4 of said Section 5, thence North, along the East line
28 of the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of said Section 5 to the North
29 line of the South 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of said Section 5, thence
30 East along the North line of the South 1/2 of the Southwest
31 1/4 and along the North line of the South 1/2 of the
32 Southeast 1/4 of said Section 5 to the place of beginning of
33 this description.

1 All that part of Section 8, Township 44 North, Range 12
2 East of the 3rd Principal Meridian bounded by the following
3 described line; Commencing at the point of intersection of
4 the Westerly right of way line of the Elgin, Joliet and
5 Eastern Railway with the centerline of Buckley Road (State
6 Route 137) thence Southerly along the Westerly right of way
7 line of the said railway to the point of intersection with
8 the South line of said Section 8; thence West along the South
9 line of said Section 8 to the point of intersection with the
10 centerline of Greenbay Road; thence Northerly and Westerly
11 along the centerline of said Greenbay Road (State Route 131)
12 to the centerline intersection with Buckley Road (State Route
13 137) thence Easterly along the centerline intersection of
14 Buckley Road to the place of beginning of this description.
