1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 549
2 AMENDMENT NO. _______. Amend House Bill 549, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment
4 No. 1, on page 1, by replacing line 21 with the following:
5 "When a Public Defender in a county of 30,000 or more
6 population is receiving not less than 90% of the compensation
7 of the State's Attorney of such county, that Public Defender
8 shall not engage in the private practice of law."; and
9 on page 2, by deleting lines 1 through 3; and
10 on page 2, line 8, immediately after the period, by inserting
11 the following:
12 "These amounts furnished by the State shall be payable
13 monthly from the State treasury to the county in which each
14 Public Defender is employed.".
