1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 482
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 482, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment
4 No. 1, on page 3, line 31, after "person", by inserting "not
5 licensed under this Act"; and
6 on page 5, line 31, by inserting after the period the
7 following:
8 "This subsection (d) does not apply to a federally licensed
9 firearm dealer whose primary place of business is located in
10 another State."; and
11 on page 10, by replacing lines 18 through 27 with the
12 following:
13 "existing ordinances and resolutions are void; however, a
14 unit of local government having a population over 2,000,000
15 may require the registration of firearms, provided the
16 registration is available to applicants seeking registration.
17 (d) A unit of local government, including a home rule
18 unit, may not regulate the acquisition, possession,
19 transportation, storage, purchase, selling, or other dealing
20 in firearms, ammunition, components, accessories, or
21 accoutrements in a manner more restrictive than provided
22 under subsection (a). This Section is a limitation under
23 subsection (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois

1 Constitution on the concurrent exercise by home rule units of
2 powers and functions exercised by the State.".
