1 AN ACT in relation to higher education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
5 adding Section 21 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 305/21 new)
7 Sec. 21. Meningitis vaccine; information. At the
8 beginning of each academic year, the University shall inform
9 each of its students and the student's parents or guardian
10 about meningitis and its transmission. The University shall
11 recommend meningitis vaccination and, for those students
12 deciding not to be vaccinated, the University shall obtain a
13 signed waiver indicating the student's receipt of the
14 information provided and the student's rejection of the
15 recommended vaccination. Any University facility that
16 delivers health services to University students must offer
17 meningitis vaccines.
18 Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management
19 Act is amended by adding Section 11 as follows:

21 Sec. 11. Meningitis vaccine; information. At the
22 beginning of each academic year, the University shall inform
23 each of its students and the student's parents or guardian
24 about meningitis and its transmission. The University shall
25 recommend meningitis vaccination and, for those students
26 deciding not to be vaccinated, the University shall obtain a
27 signed waiver indicating the student's receipt of the
28 information provided and the student's rejection of the
29 recommended vaccination. Any University facility that

2 meningitis vaccines.
3 Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended
4 by adding Section 5-115 as follows:
