SCULLY. 210 ILCS 85/12.1 new Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that in addition to any other requirements of law, the Hospital Licensing Board shall adopt rules by July 1, 2000 that develop standardized criteria, standards, procedures, and forms by which a hospital must report an adverse event. Provides that "adverse event" means an event that seriously compromises quality assurance or patient safety. Provides for review of the reports. Provides that the Department of Public Health must submit a report to the Governor and General Assembly that contains a statistical summary of the data on adverse events by April 1 of each calendar year.
