LOPEZ-ACEVEDO AND NOVAK.

   720 ILCS 5/31-5.5 new                                                       

        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Creates the offense of failure      
   to report an offense committed against a child.  Provides that it is a      
   Class A misdemeanor to knowingly fail to report to a  law  enforcement      
   agency  or  peace officer an offense that has been committed against a      
   child under 18 years of age if the person knows that the  offense  has      
   been  committed against the child and knows that the child has died or      
   that the child's life or health has been endangered by the  commission      
   of the offense.
