1 AN ACT to amend the Counties Code by changing Section
2 2-1001.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing
6 Section 2-1001 as follows:
7 (55 ILCS 5/2-1001) (from Ch. 34, par. 2-1001)
8 Sec. 2-1001. Regular meetings. Regular and special
9 meetings of the county board may be held in any public
10 building located within the county that the such county board
11 is elected to serve. Prior notice of the building selected
12 for the meeting shall be provided by the board chairman to
13 each member of the county board in the manner provided under
14 pursuant to the rules of the county board. Regular meetings
15 of the board shall be held in June and September, and at any
16 such other times that as may be determined by the board.
17 At each regular and special meeting which is open to the
18 public, members of the public and employees of the county
19 shall be afforded time, subject to reasonable constraints, to
20 comment to or ask questions of the board.

22 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
23 becoming law.
