1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Lorelle V.
3 Cutforth has announced his retirement as Assistant
4 Superintendent of Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born in Quincy in 1944; he received his
6 bachelor's degree in education from Illinois State University
7 in 1966, his master's degree from Purdue University in 1971,
8 and his C.A.S. from Northern Illinois University in 1979; and
9 WHEREAS, He has been a member of the Kiwanis since 1987
10 and is a member of Promise Keepers; and
11 WHEREAS, He began his teaching career at Canterbury
12 Junior High School in Markham teaching Social Studies and
13 Science from 1966 to 1968; he taught History of Government at
14 Seton High School in South Holland in 1968-1969; he taught
15 Social Studies at O. W. Huth Upper Grade Center in Matteson
16 from 1969 to 1971 and was Assistant Principal from 1971 to
17 1974; and he was Principal at Covington from 1974 to 1994 and
18 Assistant Superintendent from 1994 to June 30, 2000 at
19 District 123; and
20 WHEREAS, Mr. Cutforth has been supported throughout his
21 public and private life by his wife, Nancy, and his twin
22 children, Zack and Jocelyn; and
23 WHEREAS, Lorelle Cutforth has earned the respect and
24 admiration of all who have come to know him; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate Lorelle V. Cutforth on his retirement from
28 District 123 after twenty-six years of dedicated service; and
29 be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
