1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that
3 the First Baptist Church of Manlius is celebrating its 100th
4 anniversary this year; and
5 WHEREAS, The First Baptist Church of Manlius, also known
6 as The Little White Church on the Hill, was organized on
7 August 27, 1899; and
8 WHEREAS, During the past 100 years, the First Baptist
9 Church of Manlius has gone through a series of renovations,
10 expansions, and modernizations, and through it all has, with
11 dedication and devotion, notably continued to provide the
12 Manlius faithful with the necessary services essential to the
13 socialization and stabilization of a community; and
14 WHEREAS, It is through the tireless efforts of Reverend
15 Allen Lively and all those who have preceded him that the
16 church has been a stable and enduring beacon of spiritual
17 service to its members throughout the past 100 years;
18 therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate the First Baptist Church of Manlius on the
22 occasion of its 100th anniversary and acknowledge the
23 valuable services it has provided throughout the years; and
24 be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Reverend Allen Lively, Pastor.
