91_HR0381 LRB9107052CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Those individuals who minister to the spiritual 3 needs of others are worthy of the highest respect and 4 admiration; and 5 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this House that 6 the Reverend Melchior Toczek is celebrating the Golden 7 Jubilee of his ordination to the holy priesthood with an 8 anniversary mass to be held at 9:30 a.m. at Oak Forest 9 Hospital in Oak Forest, Illinois, followed by a reception; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, Born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1923, Father Toczek 12 studied at Mayslake in Oak Brook and at the Franciscan major 13 seminary in Teutopolis; and 14 WHEREAS, He was ordained June 24, 1949, and was assigned 15 to various Midwestern stations; he has taught at Quincy 16 College for 6 years, administered and taught at Hales 17 Franciscan High School in Chicago for 11 years, served the 18 prisoners at Statesville Prison at Joliet, and for almost 12 19 years, has been a Catholic Chaplain to the patients at Oak 20 Forest Hospital; and 21 WHEREAS, The illustrious life and extraordinary service 22 of Father Toczek are a shining example of the love of God to 23 all the people of this State, of whatever faith; therefore, 24 be it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 26 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 27 we congratulate the Reverend Melchior Toczek upon the Golden 28 Jubilee of his ordination into the holy priesthood and 29 express great pleasure in the expectation that he will be 30 able to continue his loving service to the people of this 31 State for many years to come; and be it further -2- LRB9107052CBcb 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to him as an expression of our great respect and 3 esteem.
