1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Centralia Business
4 and Professional Women's Club on being chosen District 17
5 Club of the Year; and
6 WHEREAS, The officers for the 1998-1999 year are:
7 President Marilyn Britton, Vice President Susan Cude,
8 Treasurer Virginia Telford, Recording Secretary Michele
9 Garrison, and Correspondence Secretary Sally Tiemann; and
10 WHEREAS, The Centralia Business and Professional Women's
11 Club was organized in 1926 with 44 charter members; there are
12 several BPW Club's within District 17, making the selection
13 of the Centralia Club even better; and
14 WHEREAS, The objectives of Business and Professional
15 Women are as follows: to elevate the standards for women in
16 business and in the professions; to bring about a spirit of
17 cooperation among business and professional women of the
18 United States; and to extend opportunities to business and
19 professional women through education along the lines of
20 industrial, scientific, and vocational activities; therefore,
21 be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we congratulate the Centralia Business and Professional
25 Women's Club on being selected Club of the Year in District
26 17; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the Centralia Business and Professional Women's
29 Club.
