91_HR0262 LRB9106759KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to extend their sincerest sympathies to 4 the family and friends of David H. Everson, who recently 5 passed away; and 6 WHEREAS, David H. Everson was born in Rochester, 7 Minnesota on September 2, 1941; his parents were Ralph Howard 8 and Margaret Foelster Everson; in 1964 he married Judith 9 Eleanor; and 10 WHEREAS, David H. Everson was a 1963 graduate of Indiana 11 State University, where he received his Master's Degree in 12 1964 and his Ph.D. in 1969; Mr. Everson taught political 13 science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale from 14 1967 to 1970; and 15 WHEREAS, David H. Everson went on to become a part of the 16 founding faculty members at Sangamon State University, now 17 the University of Illinois in Springfield; he first served as 18 a professor of political science and later as an associate 19 chancellor; from 1979 to 1983 he directed the Legislative 20 Studies Center; and 21 WHEREAS, David H. Everson published three scholarly 22 books, "An Introduction to Systematic Political Science", 23 "American Political Parties", and "Public Opinion and 24 Interest Groups in American Politics"; he also published six 25 detective novels and two mystery stories; and 26 WHEREAS, David H. Everson was a member of the American 27 Political Science Association, and Mystery Writers of 28 America; and 29 WHEREAS, David H. Everson is survived by his wife, 30 Judith; his son Christopher and his wife, Anne; his mother, 31 Margaret; his sister, Karen Stone; two aunts, two nieces, and -2- LRB9106759KBkb 1 a cousin; therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 3 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 4 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of David H. 5 Everson of Springfield, Illinois; may there be a sense of 6 peace in this time of loss, both for the family and the 7 friends of this man; and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 9 presented to the family of David H. Everson.
