1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Culver Military Academy was founded in 1894, and
3 Culver Girls Academy was formed in 1971; and
4 WHEREAS, A military system of student leadership is
5 taught at the Culver Military Academy, and the Culver Girls
6 Academy is modeled around a prefect system of leadership; and
7 WHEREAS, Culver prepares its students for citizenship and
8 leadership by teaching, developing, and nurturing the whole
9 individual; and
10 WHEREAS, The Culver mission instructs that physical
11 fitness and extra-curricular activities complement
12 intellectual, spiritual, and character development; and
13 WHEREAS, The Culver Educational Foundation Board of
14 Trustees is holding its meeting on February 5 and 6, 1999, in
15 the City of Chicago; therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18 we applaud the Culver Academies for their excellence in
19 teaching and proclaim February 6, 1999 as Culver Day in the
20 State of Illinois; and be it further
21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to the members of the Culver Educational Foundation
23 Board of Trustees.
