91_HB3785 LRB9112392DJtm 1 AN ACT in relation to real property. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Conveyances Act is amended by changing 5 Section 2 as follows: 6 (765 ILCS 5/2) (from Ch. 30, par. 2) 7 Sec. 2. Effect of conveyance. Every estate, gift, grant, 8 deed, mortgage, lease, release, or confirmation of lands, 9 tenements, rents, services or hereditaments made or had, or 10 hereafter to be made or had, by any person or persons, being 11 of full age and sound mind, and not procured by duress, to 12 any person or persons, and all recoveries, judgments and 13 enforcements had or made, or to be had or made, shall be good 14 and effectual to him, her or them to whom it is or shall be 15 so made, had or given, and to all others, to his, her or 16 their use, against the judgment debtor, seller, donor, 17 grantor, mortgagor, lessor, releasor, or confirmor, and 18 against his, her or their heirs, claiming the same only as 19 heir or heirs, and each of them, and against all others 20 having or claiming any title or interest in the same, only to 21 the use of the same judgment debtor, seller, donor, grantor, 22 mortgagor, lessor, releasor or confirmor, or his, her or 23 their heirs, at the time of the judgment, enforcement, 24 bargain, sale, mortgage, covenant, lease, release, gift or 25 grant made. 26 (Source: P.A. 84-546.)
