1 AN ACT to amend the County Jail Act.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The County Jail Act is amended by changing
5 Section 1 as follows:
6 (730 ILCS 125/1) (from Ch. 75, par. 101)
7 Sec. 1. Jail facilities. There shall be kept and
8 maintained in good and sufficient condition and repair, one
9 or more jail facilities for the use of each county within
10 this State. However, this requirement may be satisfied by a
11 single jail facility jointly maintained and used by 2 or more
12 counties. It shall be unlawful to build a jail within 200
13 feet of any building used exclusively for school purposes.
