 1        AN ACT to amend  the  Southwestern  Illinois  Development
 2    Authority Act by changing Section 10.

 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  5.   The   Southwestern   Illinois   Development
 6    Authority Act is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:

 7        (70 ILCS 520/10) (from Ch. 85, par. 6160)
 8        Sec. 10.  Enterprise Zone. The Authority may by ordinance
 9    designate  a  portion  of the territorial jurisdiction of the
10    Authority for certification as an Enterprise Zone  under  the
11    Illinois  Enterprise  Zone  Act  in  addition  to  any  other
12    enterprise  zones  which may be created under that Act, which
13    area  shall  have  all  the  privileges  and  rights  of   an
14    Enterprise Zone pursuant to the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act,
15    but  which  shall not be counted in determining the number of
16    Enterprise Zones to be created in any year pursuant  to  that
17    Act.
18        Prior  to January 1, 1999, the Authority may by ordinance
19    designate a portion of the territorial  jurisdiction  of  the
20    Authority  located  in  the  southeastern portion of Chouteau
21    Township  and  the  southwestern  portion   of   Edwardsville
22    Township  along  FAR  310  for certification as an Enterprise
23    Zone under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act  in  addition  to
24    any  other  enterprise  zones which may be created under that
25    Act, which area shall have all the privileges and  rights  of
26    an  Enterprise  Zone  under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act,
27    but which shall not be counted in determining the  number  of
28    Enterprise  Zones  to be created in any year pursuant to that
29    Act.
30        Prior to January 1, 2000 the Authority may  by  ordinance
31    designate  a  portion  of the territorial jurisdiction of the

 1    Authority located in  the  townships  of  O'Fallon,  Lebanon,
 2    Mascoutah,  and  Shiloh Valley of the county of St. Clair for
 3    certification  as  an  Enterprise  Zone  under  the  Illinois
 4    Enterprise Zone Act in addition to any other Enterprise Zones
 5    which may be created under that Act. The area shall have  all
 6    the  privileges  and  rights  of an Enterprise Zone under the
 7    Illinois Enterprise Zone Act but  shall  not  be  counted  in
 8    determining  the  number of Enterprise Zones to be created in
 9    any year under that Act.

11        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
12    becoming law.
