House Sponsors: LINDNER-BROWN Short description: VEH CD-GOLF CART ON STREETS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Vehicle Code to permit the Department of Transportation or a unit of local government to authorize the operation of golf carts on roadways under their respective jurisdictions. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Requires golf carts to have a slow moving vehicle emblem on the rear in order to be operated on a roadway. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Specifies minimum equipment standards required before golf carts may be operated on a roadway. Requires headlights and tail lamps to be lit. Provides that persons driving or in actual physical control of golf carts are subject to motor vehicle DUI provisions. FISCAL NOTE (DOT) Actual cost should be less than $10,000 annually.
