Senate Sponsors: SIEBEN. Short description: CHILD CARE-LICENSE WAIVER Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that the Director of Children and Family Services may issue a license to a person who has been convicted of a crime that otherwise would prevent the issuance of the license if (i) the conviction occurred more than 10 years before the person applied for a license, (ii) the crime did not involve harm or the threat of harm to a child or bodily harm to any person, (iii) the applicant has not been convicted of a crime under Article 11 (except offenses described in Sections 11-7, 11-8, 11-12, and 11-13) or Section 12-13, 12-14, 12-14.1, 12-15, 12-16, or 12-16.2 of the Criminal Code of 1961 or any similar crime in another state, (iv) the applicant has not been convicted of committing a crime in the last 10 years, and (v) the applicant proves, to the satisfaction of the Director, that the applicant has good moral character.
