USE-OCC TXS-COMPUTERS-SCHOOLS                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Use Tax Act, the Service  Use  Tax  Act,  the  Service      
   Occupation  Tax  Act,  and  the Retailers' Occupation Tax Act. Exempts      
   from the taxes imposed under those Acts the sale of computer equipment      
   to educational institutions.  Provides that the exemption is available      
   in tax years ending on  or  after  December  31,  1998.   Sunsets  the      
   exemption after 10 years.  Effective immediately.
