House Sponsors: CROSS. Short description: ST GIFT BAN-EXECUTIVE BRANCH Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the State Employee Gift Ban Act and amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Prohibits officers and employees of the State executive branch from accepting or soliciting gifts from lobbyists, State contractors, State-regulated entities, entities with interests affected by a State agency's activities, and the spouse or children of those persons. Provides that a violating State officer or employee forfeits his or her office or employment and a violating donor commits a business offense with a fine up to $10,000. Requires executive branch officers and employees not already required to file statements of economic interests to do so. Effective immediately. FISCAL NOTE (Dpt.
