Short description: CRIM CD DOMESTC VIOLENCE-COSTS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 and the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986. Provides that the court shall authorize the county to charge a defendant, who is ordered to perform community service for assault or a violation of an order of protection, for the costs of the community service based upon the person's ability to pay for those costs. Also requires the court to require a person convicted of or placed on supervision for violation of an order of protection to perform community service if available. FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Corrections) HB 2167 would have no fiscal or prison population impact. CORRECTIONAL NOTE No change from DOC fiscal note.
