Short description: 
CRIMCD-MURDER-ELDERLY-DISABLED                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 relating to  the  imposition  of      
   the  death penalty for first degree murder.  Provides that the killing      
   of an individual who is a senior citizen (60 years of age or older) or      
   a disabled person is an aggravating factor for which the death penalty      
   may be imposed.                                                             
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
        Deletes substance of the bill.  Provides that the  death  penalty      
   for  first  degree  murder  may  be  imposed upon an offender when the      
   murdered individual was 60 years or older and the death resulted  from      
   exceptionally  brutal or heinous behavior indicative of wanton cruelty      
   or when  the  murdered  individual  was  a  disabled  person  and  the      
   defendant  knew  or should have known that the murdered individual was      
   disabled.
