Senate Sponsors: DILLARD-CARROLL Short description: CRIM CD & CORR-BOMBS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is an aggravating factor for which the death penalty may be imposed that the murdered individual was killed as the result of the explosion of a bomb or other explosive device or as a result of the igniting of any incendiary device or flammable substance. Changes the penalty for possession of explosives or incendiary devices from a Class 2 to a Class 1 felony with a sentence of at least 4 and no more than 30 years. Provides that making a false alarm as to an explosive or bomb is a Class 3 felony with a fine of not less than $3,000 and no more than $10,000 in addition to other penalties. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that a prisoner serving sentence for possession of explosives or explosive or incendiary devices or aggravated arson shall receive no more than 4.5 days of good conduct credit for each month of his or her sentence of imprisonment.
