Creates a deduction for individual taxpayers who care for a parent in the individual's home in an amount equal to $1,000 per taxable year for expenses spent on caring for the parent if the parent has been diagnosed by a physician as unable to live alone. Applicable to taxable years ending on or after December 31, 1997.
