Provides that a resident veteran is exempt from camping and admission fees of parks of the Department of Natural Resources if permanently disabled from service connected causes with any percentage (now 100%) disability. FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Veterans' Affairs) HB573 will have no fiscal impact on Dpt. Veterans' Affairs; it will result in a loss of revenue for Dpt. of Natural Resources. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that a resident veteran is exempt from camping and admission fees of parks of the Department of Natural Resources if permanently disabled from service connected causes with 10% disability or greater (now 100%). FISCAL NOTE, H-AM 1 (Dept. of Natural Resources) Estimated revenue loss from camping fees is $300,000. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Adds reference to: 20 ILCS 805/63a23 Deletes everything. Amends the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and the Department of Veterans Affairs Act. Includes within the provisions for campsite fee exemptions resident disabled veterans with 30% or more disability who do not otherwise qualify for the exemption.
