90_SR0136 LRB9008260CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Rosemary Carpenter; and 4 WHEREAS, She grew up in Chicago's North Beverly 5 neighborhood and in 1962 she moved to Burbank; she was a 6 member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, serving on 7 the church's school board, as a member of the Ladies Guild, 8 and chairman of the church carnival; and 9 WHEREAS, She founded the Burbank chapter of the American 10 Cancer Society and served on the board for eleven years; and 11 WHEREAS, Mrs. Carpenter was elected City Clerk in 1977; 12 she also was active with the Stickney Township Democratic 13 Organization, was past president of the township's women's 14 organization and served as a precinct captain for many years; 15 and 16 WHEREAS, She will be deeply missed by her family and 17 friends, especially her husband, Jim; her son, Kevin; her 18 daughters, Terry Kuzniar, Patty Graff, Susan Meyers, and 19 Kathleen Cerepa; a brother, Joseph; and six grandchildren; 20 therefore, be it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 22 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our sincere 23 condolences to the family of Rosemary Carpenter; and be it 24 further 25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 26 presented to Jim Carpenter.
