Provides that each utility and alternative retail electric supplier shall remit energy assistance charge receipts to the Department of Revenue (now Department of Commerce and Community Affairs) for deposit in the Renewable Energy Resources Trust Fund and the Coal Technology Development Assistance Fund (now the Renewable Energy Resources Trust Fund). Provides that contributions to the Energy Efficiency Trust Fund shall be remitted to the Department of Revenue (now the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs). Amends the Illinois Coal Technology Development Assistance Act. Provides that when the monthly balance reaches $10,000,000 for the Coal Technology Development Assistance Fund, then the State Treasurer shall not transfer other moneys to the fund. Amends the Energy Assistance Act of 1989. Expedites certain dates of the Energy Assistance Program concerning review, reporting, and advisement. Makes other changes. Effective immediately. SRS90S0078JJch SB1853 Enrolled SRS90S0078JJch 1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by adding 2 Section 5-110. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding 6 Section 5-110 as follows: 7 (220 ILCS 5/5-110 new) 8 Sec. 5-110. Disclosure of customer information to law 9 enforcement agencies. A public utility shall not disclose 10 customer record information to a law enforcement agency 11 unless the law enforcement agency requests the customer 12 record information in writing, specifying that the 13 information is necessary for a law enforcement purpose. 14 Customer record information includes, but is not limited to, 15 social security numbers, public aid numbers, and employment 16 data. Nothing in this Section shall affect the Commission's 17 access to information under this Act or any other law. 18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 19 becoming law.
