1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1846
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1846, AS AMENDED,
3 by replacing the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT in relation to criminal law."; and
5 by inserting immediately below the enacting clause the
6 following:
7 "Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
8 adding Section 25-1.1 as follows:
9 (720 ILCS 5/25-1.1 new)
10 Sec. 25-1.1. Unlawful contact with streetgang members.
11 (a) A person commits the offense of unlawful contact
12 with streetgang members when:
13 (1) He or she knowingly has direct or indirect
14 contact with a streetgang member as defined in Section 10
15 of the Illinois Streetgang Terrorism Omnibus Prevention
16 Act after having been sentenced to probation, conditional
17 discharge, or supervision for a criminal offense with a
18 condition of such sentence being to refrain from direct
19 or indirect contact with a streetgang member or members;
20 or
21 (2) He or she knowingly has direct or indirect

1 contact with a streetgang member as defined in Section 10
2 of the Illinois Streetgang Terrorism Omnibus Prevention
3 Act after having been released on bond for any criminal
4 offense with a condition of such bond being to refrain
5 from direct or indirect contact with a streetgang member
6 or members;
7 (b) Unlawful contact with streetgang members is a Class
8 A misdemeanor.
9 (c) This Section does not apply to a person when the
10 only streetgang member or members he or she is with is a
11 family or household member or members as defined in paragraph
12 (3) of Section 112A-3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of
13 1963 and the streetgang members are not engaged in any
14 streetgang related activity."; and
15 by renumbering all subsequent Sections in multiples of 5
16 beginning with the number "10".
