The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by 6 changing Section 11-80-2a as follows: 7 (65 ILCS 5/11-80-2a) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-80-2a) 8 Sec. 11-80-2a. Parking. A municipality with a 9 population of over 1,000,000 that receives State funds for 10 the maintenance of streets or roads within that municipality 11 shall not restrict parking on any street or road in that 12 municipality to residents only, except that a municipality 13 may restrict parking in residential areas during special 14 events for which a special parking sticker may then be 15 requiredIn areas zoned for residential use, the corporate16authorities may restrict part of each street for "residents17parking only". 18 (Source: P.A. 79-545.)
