Requires criminal background checks for persons who are employed as an emergency medical technician, first responder, trauma nurse specialist, or prehospital registered nurse. Provides that a person who has been convicted of certain provisions of the Criminal Code of 1961, the Wrongs to Children Act, Cannabis Control Act, or the Illinois Controlled Substances Act may not be employed as an emergency medical technician, first responder, trauma nurse specialist, or prehospital registered nurse. Among the specified offenses are homicide, kidnapping, sex offenses, assaults, batteries, financial crimes against the elderly, theft, alcohol related offenses involving a motor vehicle, and various drug violations.
