1 AN ACT to amend the Credit Card Issuance Act by changing
2 Section 1a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Credit Card Issuance Act is amended by
6 changing Section 1a as follows:
7 (815 ILCS 140/1a) (from Ch. 17, par. 6002)
8 Sec. 1a. Discrimination prohibited. No person may be
9 denied a credit card, upon proper application therefor,
10 solely on account of unlawful discrimination, as defined and
11 prohibited in Section 4-103 of the Illinois Human Rights Act.
12 No question requesting any information concerning an
13 applicant's marital status shall appear on any credit card
14 application except in connection with an application for a
15 joint account.
