The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems 6 Act is amended by adding Section 3.242 as follows: 7 (210 ILCS 50/3.242 new) 8 Sec. 3.242. Destination determination. When being 9 transported by ambulance for emergency treatment, the patient 10 or patient's representative may designate the hospital to 11 which the patient is to be transported provided that the 12 hospital is equipped to adequately provide the emergency 13 treatment and transportation to the designated hospital will 14 not increase the risk to the patient.
