Amend Senate Bill 455 on page 1, by 3 replacing line 2 with the following: 4 "Sections 15-107 and 18c-6102."; and 5 on page 1, line 6, by replacing "Section 15-107" with 6 "Sections 15-107 and 18c-6102"; and 7 on page 9, below line 19, by inserting the following: 8 "(625 ILCS 5/18c-6102) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 18c-6102) 9 Sec. 18c-6102. Exemptions From Commission Jurisdiction. 10 The provisions of this Sub-chapter shall not, except as 11 provided in Section 18c-6501 of this Chapter, apply to: 12 (1) Carriers owned by any political subdivision, school 13 district, institution of higher education, or municipality, 14 and operated either by such political subdivision, 15 institution of higher education, or municipality or its 16 lessee or agent; 17 (2) Commuter vans as defined in The Illinois Vehicle 18 Code; 19 (3) Carriers transporting passengers without fixed 20 routes or schedules and charging on a time or distance basis, 21 including taxicabs, charter operations, and contract bus -2- LRB9002361NTmbam02 1 operations; 2 (4) Carriers transporting passengers with fixed routes 3 and schedules and charging on a per passenger fixed charge 4 basis and which do not include an airport as a point to be 5 served on the route, in whole or in part. 6 (5) Transportation in vehicles with a manufacturer's 7 rated seating capacity of less than 810persons, including 8 the driver; 9 (6) Transportation subject to the Ridesharing 10 Arrangements Act; 11 (7) Commuter buses offering short-haul for-hire 12 regularly scheduled passenger transportation service within 13 metropolitan and suburban areas, over regular routes with 14 fixed schedules, and utilized primarily by passengers using 15 reduced-fare, multiple-ride, or commutation tickets during 16 morning and evening peak periods in travelling to and from 17 their places of employment; and 18 (8) Those persons owning and operating school buses, as 19 defined in The Illinois Vehicle Code, and regulated by other 20 provisions of that Code. 21 (Source: P.A. 85-809.)".
