1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing
2 Section 1-2-3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
6 changing Section 1-2-3 as follows:
7 (65 ILCS 5/1-2-3) (from Ch. 24, par. 1-2-3)
8 Sec. 1-2-3. Revision of ordinances. The mayor may
9 appoint, by and with the advice and consent of the city
10 council, one or more competent persons to prepare and submit
11 to the city council, for adoption or rejection, an ordinance
12 to revise the city ordinances. The compensation for this
13 revision shall be fixed by the city council and paid out of
14 the city treasury.
15 The corporate authorities of villages and incorporated
16 towns have the power conferred upon cities in the preceding
17 paragraph of this Section.
