1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Ernest Weber
3 of Newton is retiring from the Norris Electric Cooperative;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, He was born on March 23, 1929 in Wheeler; he
6 attended Newton Community High School and completed the
7 Lakeland College Electrical Power Engineering Technology
8 Program; and
9 WHEREAS, He married the former Marilynn Smith on January
10 27, 1957 at the First Presbyterian Church in Newton and to
11 this union was born a son, Tony; and
12 WHEREAS, He started work as a work order clerk and
13 material clerk in 1949; served with the Paratroopers in the
14 82nd Airborne from January of 1952 until January of 1954; was
15 a meter repairman and tester journeyman, power polyphase
16 tester, electrification advisor, maintenance supervisor,
17 Assistant Manager, and Manager; and
18 WHEREAS, Mr. Weber worked with 4-H Projects for over 20
19 years; he was Past Vice President and Charter Member of the
20 Junior Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Boys Park,
21 Past Secretary of the Benchwarmers Club, Past President of
22 the Newton Bowling Association, Past President and Past
23 Secretary of the Jasper County Country Club, Past President
24 of the Illinois Electric Cooperatives Managers Association,
25 and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church; and
26 WHEREAS, Mr. Weber has earned the respect and admiration
27 of all who have come to know him; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
30 congratulate Ernest Weber as he retires from the Norris
31 Electric Cooperative and wish him the best of good luck in

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Ernest Weber as an expression of our esteem.
