1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Henry Brickman, Sr. of Gibson City have celebrated the
8 fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Henry and Phyllis Brickman were united in holy
10 matrimony on August 29, 1948 at the First Christian Church in
11 Chapin; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Hank Brickman,
13 Jr. and the proud grandparents of two grandchildren; and
14 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
15 highest plateaus when a couple such as Henry and Phyllis
16 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
17 WHEREAS, Henry and Phyllis stand as examples of the best
18 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and
19 to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that
20 hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in
21 today's world; therefore be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate Henry and Phyllis Brickman on the occasion of
25 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
26 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with a child and
27 grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish them
28 happiness and good health in the future; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
