90_HR0593 LRB9012674KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The Centralia Cultural Society is losing two 3 valued friends as Ken and Madge McCall move to Missouri; and 4 WHEREAS, Ken and Madge McCall began working with the 5 Centralia Cultural Society in 1964; at a Centralia Rotary 6 Club meeting, the Little Theatre Players performed songs from 7 "Finnigan's Rainbow", and Ken decided that he could do that; 8 in 1965 Ken auditioned for "Wildcat" and won the role of Joe 9 Dynamite; and 10 WHEREAS, At the same time Madge also became active in the 11 theatre; in 1969 Ken, Madge, and their children, Brian and 12 Denise, all performed in "South Pacific"; Ken also directed 13 "Pioneer Go Home" that same year; and 14 WHEREAS, Ken and Madge continued to work on productions 15 such as "Hello Dolly", "The Sound of Music", "Anything Goes", 16 "Show Boat", "Oliver", and "Bye Bye Birdie", with Madge 17 serving as director; and 18 WHEREAS, In addition to their work with the Centralia 19 Cultural Society, Ken has served as the Master of Ceremonies 20 at the Christmas Concert and Orchestra Pops Concerts for many 21 years; Madge was President of the Little Theatre Players in 22 1983 and 1988; and both Ken and Madge have served on the 23 Board of Directors of the Little Theatre Players; and 24 WHEREAS, Ken and Madge McCall are the proud parents of 25 Denise, Brian, and Sharon; therefore, be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 28 thank Ken and Madge McCall for providing so much to Centralia 29 through their involvement with the Centralia Cultural 30 Society; we wish them good luck and continued blessings as 31 they move to our neighboring State of Missouri; and be it -2- LRB9012674KBkb 1 further 2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 3 presented to Ken and Madge McCall.
